The Lillian Harris Letters Lillian Harris was born and raised in Spencer, Indiana.  She attended Indiana University and afterwards taught high school English. She worked for Prohibition repeal and later campaigned for repeal of FDR’s New Deal. She became a travel director and took groups to Europe, Russia, India, and Hong Kong. 

Lillian saved decades of correspondence. Her letters and her photos, combined with newspaper clippings, are the content of this book. We get to know Lillian and her family in remarkable detail.

The Garriotts
Gene Garriott was born and lived in Southern Indiana. He was a teacher, a farmer, a miller, and later a County Treasurer. He and his wife, Clara, raised 3 girls, first on a farm outside of town, later settling in Scottsburg. Through newspaper clippings, photos, and letters, we connect with Clara and Gene and their community.

Rothrock Family Letters
David Rothrock was a professor of mathematics at Indiana University. He and his wife, Grace, lived in Bloomington, Indiana. This collection of letters was written to their son, Henry, and his wife, Roberta, who lived in Wilmington, Delaware. The letters were written between 1936-1949 and provide an incredible amount of detail into the lives of David and Grace and their family. Over 4 volumes, the 300+ letters are combined with family photos, connecting us deeper into their story.
